That's Sgt. Donny Donowitz. You might know him better by his nickname: "The Bear Jew". Now, if you heard of Aldo the Apache, you gotta have heard of the Bear Jew.

Review

In this black comedy, Brad Pitt plays Lt. Aldo "Aldo the Apache" Raine, the commanding officer of the Basterds, a black ops unit of mainly Jewish-American soldiers whose goal is to instill fear and chaos behind enemy lines in occupied France.

The plot is classic Tarantino and I enjoyed the tight dialogue and the historical tidbits being mixed in. The film is incredibly memorable with many iconic scenes filled with cinematic flare. The characters are all fantastic, from Pitt's Raine, to Mélanie Laurent's Shosanna, to Daniel Brühl's Zoller. My favourite character has got to be Christoph Waltz's eloquent and ruthlessly effective Hans Landa, who is both chilling as well as entertaining to watch.

Conclusion

A fun war film with a stellar cast and story.
