Review

Luke and friends mount a rescue of Han Solo from Jabba the Hutt and face off against the Emperor who built a second Death Star.

This film wasn't bad, but it certainly wasn't as good as Episode IV or Episode V. There are still excellent special effects and action sequences; we also get to see Luke's full transformation into a Jedi Knight. He's calm and collected, and surrounded by an air of zen; he is a total badass who defeats all his enemies with style.

I really liked the story up until the characters arrive on Endor; the scenes with Ewoks I felt were a bit forced. They look outdated and the humour is unnatural. The pacing of the story was also very inconsistent, speeding up some arcs but slowing down others. I felt that conclusion to the film, however, was epic and very fitting, rounding out the middle Endor parts of the film as well as the original trilogy.

Conclusion

A fitting conclusion to the original trilogy.
