Previous Goliath reviews:
Billy McBride (Billy Bob Thornton) takes on Big Pharma in San Francisco in this show's conclusion. As with the last season, Billy struggles with both the larger legal case but also with his inner conflicts and demons.
This season still has elements of the surreal and metaphorical but much less than the previous season. This season also features more courtroom and legal themes in the story which is a nice return to form. Thornton's Billy is very subtle but I do like some of his more raw scenes. J. K. Simmons' Zax is a fun villain while Jena Malone's Sam is both troubled and nuanced. I really like how this season explores the conflicted relationships between large law firms and their pharmaceutical clients. The noir aesthetics of the show was interesting at first and became tiring after a while, but I do like the San Francisco locale, especially Chinatown, which I frequented while living in the city.
A decent finale, although not as good as the first season.
