"You miss 100% of the shots you don't take - Wayne Gretzky" - Michael Scott
Previous The Office review:
Season 5 is when the show reached its peak viewership and features some memorable plotlines such as Michael (Steve Carell) founding a competing paper company and the introduction of Charles (Idris Elba), a no-nonsense new boss sent from corporate. The romantic relationships between the characters also develop, such as the the long-distance between Jim (John Krasinski) and Pam (Jenna Fischer), the ill-fated between Michael and Holly (Amy Ryan), and of course, the cringeworthy love triangle of Angela (Angela Kinsey), Dwight (Rainn Wilson), and Andy (Ed Helms).
Overall the season is one of my favourites with some very solid episodes. I also like how there are a few episodes which focus on the supporting cast, such as on the disastrous Meredith (Kate Flannery) and the annoyed Stanley (Leslie David Baker). I do feel that some of the new characters being introduced, namely Charles and Erin (Ellie Kemper), are pretty shallow and not entertaining to watch.
A great season but some shallow characters.
