Standing still more or less that's how life works Frank. In the real world at least. Most people just looking for a place to be happy to stand still in and someone to do it with.

Review

Season two of The Punisher picks up where season one left off; Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) wanders around small town America when he stumbles upon a girl (Giorgia Whigham) being hunted by a group of mercenaries. Frank re-dons his alias as the Punisher to protect his young ward and to track down his former brother-in-arm turned enemy Billy Russo (Ben Barnes) who has escaped from the psychiatric hospital.

The story is decent; the conspiracy involving the ruthless Jon Pilgrim (Josh Stewart) is pretty interesting at the beginning but gets a tad predictable near the middle. The plot involving Barnes’ Russo is generic from the beginning and reminds me of a soap opera, especially his relationship with Dr. Dumont (Floriana Lima). Amber Rose Revah’s Madani is also back and her character definitely adds to the soap opera narrative. While the action sequences are still brutal and violent, the character developments are definitely the highlights of this season. Bernthal’s Castle, Stewart’s Pilgrim, and Barnes’ Russo all undergo very dramatic developments.

Conclusion

Not as intense as the first season but still a solid show.
