Murder is like potato chips: you can't stop with just one.
Past Stephen King reviews:
This is probably one of the most intriguing premises for a book: a clear dome falls upon the town of Chester’s Mill and nothing can enter or leave the town. The town quickly descends into chaos.
This book showcases what King is best at: creating realistic characters. There are so many characters in this book, and many of them, even the side characters, receive much development. As with The Dead Zone, there is much political commentary, such as exploring the dynamic between George Bush and Dick Cheney, but at a small town level. There’s also commentary on the importance of impartial news reporting.
I’ll be honest. I did not like the ending. It felt anticlimactic, especially given all of the buildup. It felt like an overt deus ex machina plot device that doesn’t feel very satisfying.
The story is good but the ending is disappointing.
