Don't make promises you can't keep.
Yeah but those are the best kind.
Previous Marvel film reviews:
In this Spider-Man reboot, Andrew Garfield takes on the mantle of Peter Parker with Emma Stone as Parker's love-interest Gwen Stacy. The film retells the story of the first Spider-Man film with minor reinventions.
For a reboot, the film does feel modern with its advanced locale (such as the Oscorp building) and the action sequences. Garfield plays a much dorkier and more youthful Parker than Maguire's; I personally preferred the character development of Maguire's Parker more, mainly due to the sometimes (intentionally) cringe of Garfield's Parker. Garfield and Stone did have better chemistry than Maguire and Dunst, though. On the villain front, Willem Dafoe's Norman Osborn is a much more memorable character than Rhys Ifans' Curt Connors.
A slightly more modern Spider-Man.
