Review

I typically only watch Marvel films on flights and this is no exception. The film is the swan song for the character of Eddie Brock and his alien symbiotic friend Venom (Tom Hardy). The creator of the symbiotes, Knull (Andy Serkis), sends his agents to hunt down Eddie/Venom for the Codex, which would free Knull from his prison.

As with Let There Be Carnage, the plot is paper-thin and centered around the action sequences. Hardy's Eddie and Venom still have fun banter and great chemistry but overall the film still lacks the nuance of the Brock/Venom duo from the first film. While it's cool to see the different symbiotes, there's very little character development outside of the Brock/Venom duo and the ending is pretty corny and felt forced.

Conclusion

The last Venom movie (until Marvel inevitably decides to reboot it).
